Renault-Nissan Alliance Celebrates The Sale of its 100,000 EV
Renault-Nissan Alliance being the upholder of launching zero-emission cars to cleanse the environment of harmful Carbon emissions has recently achieved a landmark success by selling out 100,000th electric, zero-emission vehicle profitably. These cars have so far travelled around 841 million km which means traveling around the earth over 20,000 times. They have helped in saving about 53 million liters of oil and 124 million kg of CO2 from emitting in the environment.
The Renault-Nissan Alliance is committed to the goal of helping the world in getting rid of smoke-emitting vehicles by introducing the electric cars with absolutely zero emission. As they can get charged via renewable energy sources, they are not a burden on our environment in any way. These electric automobiles can be charged within the comforts of the owner’s home. However, going a step ahead, Renault-Nissan Alliance plans to mobilize utility companies along with government bodies to launch charging stations set-up around the globe to enable the drivers to recharge their vehicles up to 80% within half an hour.
Carlos Ghosn, the Chairman and CEO of Renault-Nissan Alliance proudly proclaimed that the company has successfully sold more electric cars than all the other automobile companies together could. He said, “the age of the mainstream zero-emission vehicle is here”. “We expect demand to keep growing as the charging infrastructure develops – and we remain 100% committed to zero-emission technology for the long term,” he continued.
Nissan LEAF was the first ever electric vehicle launched by Nissan back in 2010 which was purchased by Olivier Chalouhi, working as an engineer in Silicon Valley, while the 100,000th client was a US student Allison Howard who said, “it just drives perfectly. It’s so cool. I love it. The fact that it’s all electric and I don’t have to spend money on gas as a college student, that’s great.”
Nissan LEAF:
Nissan LEAF is among some of the hot-selling vehicles around the globe, with a clientele exceeding 71,000 people. LEAF has a number of awards under its belt like the World Car of the Year, European Car of the Year 2011 and Car of the Year Japan 2011-12. LEAF seems to have made a cozy place in the hearts of its clients who are extremely happy on its performance, especially on the fact, the car does not consume any gas. America, with around 30,000 units, make up the largest market for Nissan LEAF; Japan falls on second place, with 28,000 units and Europe on third with 12,000 units.
Renault:
Renault on the other hand has taken the world by storm, by having 61% share of the total EV market and selling out the vehicle like hot cakes. Around 30,000 electric vehicles have been sold out by Renault ever since it launched its first vehicle, Kangoo Z.E back in 2011, which was being nominated International Van of the Year 2012. Apart from its ever-popular Kangoo Z.E, Renault also produces equally comfortable vehicles with chic interiors like Fluence Z.E. sedan, Twizy, and the subcompact ZOE (introduced in 2013 and 5000 units been sold out already). Twizzy, a two-seater perfect for students or young couples, is one of the top selling models as around 11,000 vehicles have been sold out ever since it was launched back in 2012. The biggest markets of Renault are in France, Germany and Italy.
