BMW to debut 4 Series Gran Coupe at Geneva Motor Show this March
BMW has introduced its first four-door coupe as a part of its 4 Series line-up. This would add up with the existing 4 Series 2-door coupe and convertible. The German luxury automaker has named this new vehicle as 4 Series Gran Coupe.
According to BMW Press Club Global, it is a standard of elegance and extravagance in the midsize class, as the length and width of this 4-door coupe is similar to that of a 2-door 4 series coupe. It is however 12mm higher, with a completely modified rooftop. The four doors allow easy access for the passengers, while being capacious from the inside.
It must be noted that 4 series is the latest addition in the BMW line-up replacing the outgoing 3 Series. This means that BMW AG is further uplifting its all-new series, keeping in view a long term commitment.
The new addition to the 4 series lineup offers wide range of customization options via three special equipment packages and the M Sport package. On the other hand, BMW Individual program splatters the car with leather interior and exclusive 19 inch light-alloy wheels. The rear folding seats can be optimally used for carrying cargo efficiently.
The powertrain of 4 Series Gran Coupe goes as high as 3.0 liter six-cylinder petrol engine with the capacity to produce 306 horsepower heat. On the other end, lowest performing version can also produce up to 143 horsepower with the fuel efficiency of 4.5 liters per 100 km. Moreover, the standard version would come with six-speed manual transmission, also having options of eight-speed Steptronic or eight-speed Sport Steptronic transmission.
The 4 Series Gran Coupe will soon hit the roads and would cost around $48,000. The optional xDrive, EfficientDynamics, and ConnectedDrive features can add up the price. The coupe will be displayed in the upcoming Geneva Motor Show this march.
