Chevy Malibu rated with 5 Stars by New Car Assessment Program

2014 Malibu 5-Star NHTSA Rated Chevrolet has pleasingly publicized its triumph on earning maximum possible rating in NCAP. NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) is an authentic project of National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which rated 2014 Chevrolet Malibu mid-size sedan with five start rating. The ratings are based on the safety features and capabilities of the vehicle.

The above said model has fulfilled the revised criteria for NCAP, in which Electron Stability Control (ESC) safety feature has been replaced by Rearview Video Systems in the Recommended Technologies list. The 2014 Malibu is loaded with comprehensive safety technologies, tested by NCAP.

Malibu acquired four stars in Rollover test, while five stars in both the Side Crash and Front Crash tests. The overall rating however is stated as five stars. The model has netted these ratings on several basis, among which, 10 standard airbags are at the top. These bags include knee airbags for driver and front passenger.

Safecar.gov has included Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Warning in the recommended technologies of this Malibu. The car is surrounded with strong censors that can smell the hazard and warn the driver if another car enters from the blind spots. The existing Rear Vision Camera is assisted by all-new Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which would help drivers to pull back with more protection.

Each of the 2014 Malibu vehicles is offered with a standard six-month OnStar auto safety service. The service relies on mobile phone voice and data communication technology, informing OnStar advisors in case of a collision.

Not only the safety, but other features like luxury, comfort, and convenience also contribute to build up the earnest value of the car. It is offered in a number of versions with different engine types, starting from LS to the Eco model. The 2014 standard Chevy Malibu is able to produce 200 horsepower of energy with a fuel economy of 36 miles per gallon.
