3D-View- Interactive Web Content Using CG from Honda Motors
A new interactive web content has been released by Honda Motor Co., Ltd recently. The 3-dimensional computer graphics of 3G, allows the users to go through the driving trajectory and the sound of Ayrton Sennaengine driving McLaren-Honda in the Formula One World Championship at Suzuka Circuit that was held in 1989. The CG reproduces the fastest lap by AyrtonSenna. The idea is to show the intense relationships between people and the automobiles. The matter was developed by Honda as a part of the “dots”*2 project and it is posted at the Internavi website, under the “dots lab by internavi” section. The “dots” stands for “design our transportation story”.
3D-View is able to recreate the sound of engine that relies on the investigation of actual data that comprises of vehicle speed, accelerator control, engine speed, etc. The data was recorded for the 1989 F1 Japan Grand Prix when AyrtonSenna set a lap record at Suzuka Circuit then. The expressive technologies of 3-dimensional CG allows users to enjoy different points of view. The 3D-View is a part of AyrtonSenna 1989″ project*3.

The purpose behind Honda’s project is to offer new and innovative experiences to the user through exact reproduction of driving data.
